RESTON, VA—Tues., Nov. 4, 2025—MetroStar has appointed Kameke Mitchell as its Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), a move that expands the company’s executive leadership team as it accelerates growth within its Defense and National Security Sectors.

“I’m energized to join the MetroStar team at this pivotal moment. The pace of change across government demands agile thinking, bold partnerships, and disciplined execution. By combining human ingenuity with advanced technology, we can strengthen our nation’s readiness and ensure every decision-maker is equipped for what’s next,” said Mitchell.

Mitchell, a Senior Executive Service leader and veteran acquisition strategist, brings more than 20 years of experience guiding complex, multi-billion-dollar federal programs across NASA, the U.S. Space Force, and the U.S. Air Force. At MetroStar, she will lead enterprise strategy, market positioning, and growth initiatives that align with evolving mission priorities and modernization efforts across the defense and national security landscape.

“Kameke has the rare ability to align strategy with execution, connecting vision to outcomes that directly strengthen our national security mission,” said MetroStar’s CEO and Co-Founder Ali Reza Manoucherhi. “Her experience building modern acquisition frameworks and forging partnerships across government and industry will help MetroStar scale impact where it matters most—delivering capability, trust, and agility to the warfighters and decision-makers who protect our nation.”

Mitchell most recently served as Director of Procurement Strategic Operations and Head of Contracting Activity at NASA, where she oversaw an annual $23 billion procurement portfolio spanning multiple mission directorates and helped shape enterprise acquisition strategy. Before NASA, she served as Chief of Contracts for the U.S. Space Force’s Commercial Space Office, where she built the organization from the ground up, designing rapid acquisition frameworks and pioneering new commercial partnership models to strengthen national space resilience.

Her earlier career includes leadership roles within the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Defense Pricing and Contracting directorate, on Capitol Hill as a U.S. Senate fellow, and within the Air Force’s F-16 Program Office, where she managed international portfolios exceeding $15 billion.

Mitchell’s appointment arrives as the Department of Defense (DoD) advances large-scale modernization efforts integrating artificial intelligence and commercial technology into mission systems. The FY2025 National Defense Authorization Act introduced new reforms promoting agile acquisition and greater participation from non-traditional contractors, showing the need for seasoned leaders who understand both the policy and operational sides of defense procurement.
