MetroStar Appoints Former DOD CIO & CISO Essye Miller to sit on Board of Directors

Reston, VAMetroStar is pleased to announce the appointment of Essye B. Miller to its Board of Directors, effective Oct. 17, 2022. In this position, she will focus on fusing NextGen technology and advancing intelligence to help shape the organization’s cybersecurity innovation. 

Miller is a recognized leader in the industry with a 35-plus-year career supporting the federal government and has been at the forefront of shaping global security strategy, digital resilience, and technology infrastructure.

“We are pleased to name Essye to MetroStar’s Board of Directors,” said Ali Reza Manouchehri, MetroStar’s Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder. “Our team is always looking to the future, and Essye’s breadth of experience, leadership, and Department of Defense expertise will further fuel our growth and elevate our leadership. We are proud to have Essye on board and look forward to working with her.”

Starting her career as an Information Specialist at Gunter Air Force Base, Miller has successfully served in leadership positions throughout the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army. Additionally, she is the former Principal Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer for the Department of Defense. Currently, she shares her expertise as a strategic Board Advisor to Fortune 500 industry leaders, including Dell, T-Mobile, Trellix, and Leidos.

Miller is passionate about elevating spaces for others in the industry and uses her knowledge and experience to inspire the next generation of leaders. She has spoken at various conferences, published in multiple magazines, and is a regular guest lecturer at Trinity University. 

Well-connected within the cybersecurity and defense communities, Miller's expertise in cybersecurity will guide MetroStar in aiding agencies as they defend the Nation’s security posture in globally, ever-shifting digital spaces.
