Reston, VA, Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023 — MetroStar donated over 100 toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
Each year, the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them nationwide to children. Even with many employees continuing to work remotely, MetroStar's dedicated team came together and collected an impressive number of toys.
"The primary goal of Marine Toys for Tots is, through the gift of a new toy, help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children," the organization states on its website.
MetroStar's commitment to the veteran community is evident in its diverse team, which includes individuals with significant military backgrounds, such as former U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence and Radio Reconnaissance Specialists, retired Army Lieutenant Colonels, Air Force Contracting Officers, Marine Corps helicopter pilots, Air Force navigators, as well as many more.
MetroStar's support for Toys for Tots aligns perfectly with its dedication to community service, honoring the sacrifices of military families, and upholding the freedoms they've defended. This initiative reflects MetroStar's broader goal of engaging with and serving the community, emphasizing the importance of family support for military personnel and their shared sacrifice.
“As a young Marine on recruiter assistance, I quickly understood the importance that is placed on Toys for Tots. Giving back to the community is something that Marines do on day one and continue to do today,” said Tim Aldrich, MetroStar’s Senior Program Manager for USMC TSO.
MetroStar's generous contribution is a testament to its desire to give back to the community and serve the people who need it the most. The company is immensely proud of its employee’s efforts and eagerness to spread happiness during the holiday season.
“It feels really good to be a part of a community and company that knows the value of giving back because it is simply the right thing to do. The Toys for Tots Toy Drive was a great example of just how committed MetroStar employees are to helping those in need and spreading joy during this season of giving,” said Lily Theisen, MetroStar’s Community and Culture Coordinator.
MetroStar's CARES program exemplifies our commitment to philanthropy and maintaining strong ties with the communities that have wholeheartedly supported us. The CARES initiative consists of three core groups: Health & Humanitarian, Education & Communities, and Hometown Heroes. The company takes great pride in making a positive impact on veteran communities. For example, MetroStar is also honored to support the nonprofit organization wear blue: run to remember — a running community dedicated to paying tribute to the service and sacrifice of the American military.
"As a veteran, I've witnessed the strength of our nation but also the compassion we show for our communities," said Ryan Abbott, MetroStar’s VP of Defense. "The CARES generosity at MetroStar defines us as defenders and caretakers of the American spirit."
