Reston, VA —Monday, Jan. 06, 2025 – MetroStar, a leading provider of AI-enabled services for the public sector, is proud to announce that we have successfully completed the Department of Defense (DoD) sanctioned Joint Surveillance Voluntary Assessment Program (JSVAP). Having scored 100% across all 110 security controls, demonstrating our commitment to meet the requirements to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) for our federal government customer. This milestone not only demonstrates MetroStar’s unwavering commitment to cybersecurity excellence but also positions the company as a proactive leader in meeting the Department of Defense’s (DoD) rigorous cybersecurity requirements and helps secure critical information form the growing cyber threats.
"This accomplishment reflects the hard work and dedication of the Enterprise Operations team," said Robert J. Santos, President and Co-Founder of MetroStar. "Their attention to detail and focus on cybersecurity compliance are what make this milestone possible and validates our efforts to safeguard sensitive data but also strengthens the trust our customers place in us every day."
The successful certification aligns MetroStar with the requirements for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2, and the successful completion of the Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center (DIBCAC) High Assessment sets the foundation for achieving full certification once implemented. As part of this process, the DIBCAC evaluates contractors’ compliance with key cybersecurity regulations, including the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) clause 252.204-7012, which mandates safeguarding Covered Defense Information (CDI) and cyber incident reporting. Additionally, the DIBCAC assessment reviews adherence to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-171, “Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations,” as well as the DFARS clause 252.204-7020’s NIST SP 800-171 DoD Assessment Requirements.
By excelling in these stringent assessments, MetroStar ensures readiness for all DoD contracts requiring CMMC compliance ahead of mandatory deadlines.
This assessment was carried out by RedSpin, a DoD-approved third-party assessment organization. Known for their work in compliance assessments, managed cloud security, and consulting, RedSpin’s evaluation highlighted MetroStar’s strong cybersecurity practices.
MetroStar’s achievement of DIBCAC High certification and readiness for CMMC Level 2 certification positions the company as an early adopter in cybersecurity compliance. This approach ensures MetroStar is not only ahead of mandatory requirements but also demonstrates its commitment to staying at the forefront of DoD cybersecurity standards.
By achieving this milestone ahead of schedule, MetroStar has solidified its readiness for all DoD contracts requiring CMMC compliance and established itself as a trusted and capable partner in the defense contracting space, showcasing a forward-thinking approach to safeguarding sensitive information.
MetroStar’s dedication to cybersecurity excellence highlights its leadership in supporting national security priorities while paving the way for future opportunities in DoD projects.
